Just In Time doesn’t mean “in the nick of time”, quite the opposite! Just In Time inventory is a program that we have developed in order to help our customers manage their stock of boxes and minimize waste.
The first step of the Just In Time solution is the timely deliveries that Mountaineer makes to it’s clients. Our delivery truck makes weekly trips to Charleston area clients and bi-weekly stops to our customers in Beckly/Huntington/Ashland, Ky and as far as Gallipolis.
This means that if you are a Mountaineer Packaging client that you need not worry about running out of supplies, we are only a few days away.This also means that instead of you needing to keep an unmanageable amount of stock on-hand that might take weeks to use, you only keep the stock that you need for now. One of our clients, Diamond Electric has been using the Just In Time system with great effect to their bottom line.
The second part of the Just In Time system is “safety stock.” This means that even if you have a spike in business and burn through all of your inventory on hand that you are not out! In our 12,000 warehouse we always keep a stock of emergency materials that can be dialed up at any time.
