Diamond Electric

When a large supplier of auto-electric parts needed help to insure that their company always has the shipping materials that they need on hand, Mountaineer Packaging worked with them to develop a custom “Just In Time” program.

Mountaineer Packaging worked with Diamond Electric to establish optimum re-order points and to analyze lead times for the custom product that Mountaineer provided Diamond. It was determined that Mountaineer would work with a “blanket” purchase order. In effect, Mountaineer guaranteed pricing to Diamond, and also guaranteed to have the item in stock on demand. Mountaineer invoices Diamond for what they use, when they use it, and has arranged for a weekly delivery of these materials.

The materials manager at Diamond simply sends an email, or telephones Mountaineer Packaging, outlining the weekly requirements based upon their anticipated production. In turn, Mountaineer Packaging monitors the inventory of custom Diamond products and eliminates lead times by always having the needed material in stock.
